Theobalds Grove (TEO)

 ‘T’ is for Theobalds Grove

It was nice to see a pub which was relatively full at lunchtime.

Paul, Anthony and Keith at Liverpool Street station

This trip Keith and I were joined by Anthony who is a member of Keith and Mark’s Thursday quiz

evening team. Mark and Anthony were the original members so the team is named The Romans.

The weather was quite warm and people were also in the pub garden.

Theobalds Grove is near the end of the Weaver Line, one of the Overground lines that has a new name. We had to abandon the train when we got to London Bridge and take a bus to Liverpool Street Station to continue our journey.

The pub was called The Vine and we found it welcoming.

Keith and I chose fish and chips while Anthony had chicken tikka masala.

The fish was delicious and came with chips and mushy peas. Probably the best meal we had had for some time.

Anthony declared his chicken tikka equally delicious.

Keith had a pint of Tide (a beer I had never heard of before). I stuck to a Foster’s lager and Anthony had a pint of SIPA.

And it was not too dear either.
